Apparently, Parkland Reads’ impact is much wider than most of us suspected!

Sue Schreiber, College Development, was surprised and pleased to receive this photo of her parents’ recent Caribbean cruise. While one might assume that her father was quietly reading Garbage Land, it’s also possible that he was reading aloud to others, and that what you don’t see are the hundreds of cruise passengers just outside of this picture, taking notes and planning their compost piles.

One never knows how far the ripples from a pebble dropped into the ocean will spread…
